1965 K-code GT fastback For sale .
This is one
of our recent builds which the owner has decided to offer for sale . It started out as a 65 K code project shell that was
missing the original drivetrain and other details . This is what led the owner to decide to build the car the way he wanted
it to be instead of going the "all original " route... This car was featured earlier this year at the Motor
Trend International Auto show ....A detailed spec list for the car is below along with a link to the cars build pics for the
restoration. This car was very solid when we started, and retains all of its original sheet-metal including quarter-panels,
roof, doors and fenders. Also Full floors and deck-lid.. We only replaced the hood and front valance for styling purposes.
This car drives like a performance car in the curves with its coilover suspension
and stops like a trac car with its big Wilwood brakes but still has all the modern amenities such as power steering, a/c ,
Ipod hook-up, stereo, etc. Really the best of both worlds.
Asking price
for the car is $74,900 and is available for inspection and/or test drive by appointment. Please email us
at jackhall@hallsresto.com or call 864-266-1189 with questions or to make an appointment to come out.
p.s. We have over 400 pictures of this car before, during and after the build so do not go by what is on this site ..if
you are interested and need more pics please ask and we will email them to you.

1973 Mercury Cougar XR7 Q code 351
We have for sale one of the last of the 1st generation Mercury Cougar Muscle cars built..This is a recent
"barn find" 1973 Q code 351 cleveland Cobra Jet 4v cougar with xr7 trim . This is a 1 owner car of which we still
have the original 1973 title...This cougar exhibits 100% original paint, tons of original paint, grease pencil and decal markings,
and all original interior. This car has been stored in doors since 1983 (see new looking 1982 SC inspection decal on windsheild).
It was originally equiped with the rare Q code engine, c-6 trans, 9 inch rear end, disc brakes, A/C, full instrumentation
with factory tachometer, am/fm stereo, console, and staggered rear shocks.
Condition
of the car body is above average for an original unrestored car of its age.
It is 99% rust
free, and has rock solid floor pans, very clean (not even surface rust) frame rails front and rear, and Very sold quarter
panels. I have been all over this car with a magnet and light and the ony rust ive found is surface rust about the size of
a quarter in 2 spots on the drivers fender from previous paint chips. The Doors open and close just like a brand new car.
They click shut with one finger ...which you may guess is rare with a pair of heavy doors like these...The trunk and hood
do as well and all have veru even nice factory gaps ....The car has all its original date coded glass as well. This would
make a very nice car to drive while you freshened it up.
Condition of the interior
is also above average. It has a perfect crack and fade free dash pad and dash grab bar. It has nice woodgrain
and clear gauge lenses. It does however have 1 split ( broken thread) in the drivers sear and a tear in the headliner. It
could also probably use new carpet depending on what you plan to do with it (show or drive)...The door panels also have a
couple crakced spots in the armrests, but on the bright note with those the chrome trim and emblems on the door panels which
have to be re-used when buying new door panels are as nice as brand new...
Condition Mechanically is very good. as stated above it shows 51,000 miles which we are told is accurate
(and condition of the car reflects it)..factory c-6 with factory 2200 rpm stall torque converter is in place as is the correct
325 geared 9 inch rear. The engine runs easily with zero smoke, and idles (according to the factory gauge ) with 40-45 psi
oil pressure.
****please read****
We have performed
a complete rebuikld of the fuel system including the addition of a NOS us steel fuel tank, rebuilt factory low fuel sending
unit , fuel pump, and rebuilt 4v carb..The old fuel in the system had just gumed up everything so it had to go..So as you
know if youve every started a car after years of storage , we have already done the hard work,, all you have to do is hit
the key and drive.
We also changed all fluids and filters throughout the car (of course)
In shprt this is a low mile survivor of a rare late era muscle car ....Shop online
and see if you can even find another Q code 73 cougar hardtop...I couldnt! i could only find one 73 convertible Q code and
the asking price was north of 29K...so you can see the potential...
Asking price for her is $6,900 and of course call or email us we will listen to offers or trades
